Due to the negative
side-effects and unknown long-term effect of taking drugs, an
increasing number of people are looking to natural
remedies to get relief from heartburn and acid reflux.
Many of these remedies can be found in the
kitchen or acquired by way of a quick trip to the
supermarket. Some of the most popular are highlighted
below:
Apple cider vinegar
Apple cider vinegar has been cited as a
remedy for acid reflux for several
decades now. As with many home remedies the effectiveness
is anecdotal since - unlike drugs - no one is likely or
commission extensive research into it. Try mixing a
couple of tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in a glass
of water with some sugar or honey to taste.
Pickle juice
Pickle juice has
been recommended by
some as
a natural
option for quick,
temprorary relief from
heartburn.
Apples
If
you apple cider vinegar or pickle
juice is not so readily available then try just having a simple
apple. It might be a cliche but the common phrase about keeping
the doctor away, can hold true here and many people have
reported that having an apple before goning to bed is
especially effective in reducing nighttime acid
reflux.
Aloe vera
Drinking aloe
vera juice or swallowing
aloe vera
capsules is
a little
known but effective natural remedy for
acid reflux. It is able to provide a protective coating
on the esophagus and also has properties that help to
control the regurgitation of stomach contents. Pregnant
women and those with kidney problems should,
however, avoid this remedy.
Baking soda
Mixing half a teaspoonful of
baking soda in a glass of water has been known to help provide
quick relief for acid reflux and heartburn. Like an antacid,
the baking soda is able to neutralize some of the acid in your
stomach.
There are numerous natural
remedies out there for all kinds of conditions including acid
reflux. Some of them will work for some people but not for
others so it's really just a matter of trying to see what works
for you. The best-selling ebook Stop Acid Reflux
